about

Working in Burleigh Heads, my practice is rooted in clay, in the slow and tactile process of carving, shaping, and refining – a medium that holds memory, desire, and the imprint of the body. Homo Faber Studio is a celebration of the male form: rendered delicately, reverently, and with a deep connection to the landscapes that have shaped my own queer experiences.

My works are inspired by the cruising beaches along the east coast of Australia – wild, often secluded stretches of land where men meet in moments that are both ephemeral and deeply charged. Places where the line between nature and eroticism blurs: a furtive glance beneath banksia branches, the glint of sun on salt-slicked skin, the crash of waves masking footsteps. Whales breach on the horizon. Dolphins tumble playfully through the surf. Wildflowers bloom and fade in their quiet seasonal rhythm. And amidst it all, men arrive – some seeking connection, others escape – in a kind of unspoken communion with both each other and the land.

In my work, I explore that space of tension and tenderness – where tranquility meets desire, where bodies become part of the landscape, and where queerness is not hidden but held within nature’s embrace. These are not just objects; they are vessels of memory, fragments of encounters, and an ode to the men and moments that have moved through these spaces, off the beaten track.
